AEM V2 & "Helical" Throttle body spacer.
Hello all,
I was wondering what you guys think about the new aem v2 air intake for the em2 (vp model). From what i've read it has alot of promises but i hear that a regular short ram or cold air will do (even though the aem v2 claims to outperform its own regular cold air induction systems). If anyone has this intake system i was wondering approximately how much in gains in terms of hp and torque was seen if any (particularly on an auto tranny).
also i've seen this helical throttle body spacer that supposedly "twists the air" coming in from your intake into the throttle body to the engine much like a tornado. this spacer claims to give hp, torque, and mileage. maybe i'm just falling into a trick because a simple spacer this promising seems too good to be true, perhaps if anyone that has used this or has any knowledge of this device could give me some suggestions as to if it is worth it or not.
last but not least. would a combination of the aem v2 and the "helical" throttle body spacer be worse off than just one or the other alone? i am only asking this because i've noticed that "soundwaves" are important in transition of air from intake to engine to increase power (thus one reason why after market intakes are louder than most stocks), would the addition of the helical spacer disrupt anything and result in a decrease of power?
any type of opinion that can help me in my decision of whether i should get one or the other or perhaps even both would be helpful. Thank you!
