99 accord transmission question
I bought my 99 accord DX about a month ago, sweet car by the way. It has only 130,000 miles on it. The transmission started acting up slow and hard to shift. Checking the fluid with the stick everything looked fine. But when I drained the fluid out it looked like black motor oil. I refilled with the honda transmission fluid and now thing is so much better. I plan on changing the fluid again in about 500 miles. So here is my questions. How goes the fluid get from the converter to the pan? Has and one used royle purple trans fluid? Royle Purple claims to run cooler! Can Royle Purple fluid be mixed with the honda fluid that will remain in the converter?
auto or manual?
for honda manual tranny, you can use regular motor oil. i have used honda MTF and it works great, pennzoil syncromesh works even better, and i have heard that royal purple is top of the line.
500 miles is way too short to be changing fluid.

change the fluid with honda atf. do you know the last time the fluid was changed befoe you did it? you will need to change the fluid at least 2x more to get rid of the crappy fluid in there.
