i was looking to buy the j's racing lip off of jdmsh!t.com but it says it will only fit a 90-91 i have a 88 si can i get it to fit properly?

 

you don't have an 88 si.....but i think you have to trim the peice in the middle where is goes into the grill

umm they don't exist maybe the first year for the si was 89

 

I haven't seen OP's car, but there were 88 Si's. Whether his was one or not is a different question.

 

they don't even list an si option if you look up a part for an 88 on any honda parts site only 89-91

 

Is it a US only parts site? Perhaps OP's car isn't. The SI started in 87.

they DO exist. there are FEW and i mean FEW 88 hatches as well that are Si, They are late model 88's that are pretty much 89's.

If you want the lip to fit you should get a 90-91 bumper...i have seen people modify the lip to fit 88-89 but i wouldnt wanna chop up a good lip

 

WOW...please do some research. 1988 had crx si's. I should know because i owned 2 of them.\


Back to topic.

It will fit. But you will have to modify it. A lot trimming by the center grill. I wouldn't recommend it. I would suggest you just purchase the lip and a 90-91 crx bumper.

 

you can use an 88-89 integra lip, just cut off the ends to fit... i think i did a writeup on it a long time ago.

 

i know what i have and i have a 1988 crx si

my cars door jams says 12/1987 and it is a second gen si body, it has crx in the door panels, open headrest seats, oem lip, sunfroof, and mpfi so there is no question it is an si!

but i have always wondered who has the frist prodution 2nd crx? cause mine was made in december 1987, i no its not the first one but it a early one, who has the frist one i wonder humm?

what about the lip? can i get it to fit or not?

 

my build date says 6/86 and mine's an 88...just trim the peice that goes in the grill it will fit

 

so if i cut the two part that go where the fogs would be, it should be good fitment right? it will not be to long or anything like that?

 

86? sorry kid, wihtout a picture ill never believe that. that would actually end up being a 87 model. they dont make a car 2 years before the model year

The EF was introduced on the 9th of the 9th 1987. So check your builds dates
