You don't need Hondata unless you need to change the fuel map, ignition map, which is neccessary for high horsepower all motor builds, or turbo setups.

I would suggest doing some research if you want more power/torque.

If your car is running poor, then start with maintenence. If you have a check engine light start there.

Do some research its all about what you want to, how much money you want to spend.
There is the motor swap idea. You can build the F series. Which there is multiple threads on which motor is better just search you will find some.

They both have there benfits. IMO i would start with the F series if boosting it. Due to having to put sleeves in a H22 to run forged aluminum piston, which is not cheap. Though if you did want to go that route, 8250 rev limit on boost would pull good numbers.

If you want a stronger daily driver you can do one of two things, pick a motor/transmission to swap in which would be a strong reliable for about 2500$.

If you want to build the F series there is some good aftermarket support there as well.

Hondata is entirely not worth it. And in fact with your stock motor a complete waste of money.

You have to do a down-conversion to OBDI regardless and cannot use your stock ECU. It is much more trouble that it's worth.

Please read and do research before asking every question under the sun about your car. 99% of those "ideas" you have have already been answered twenty times over.
