Can't decide LS GREDDY TURBO OR LS JACKSON SUPERCHARGER, need help with the set up.
I have a Ls Auto Integ 97 and i'm thinking about either getting a Greddy Turbo or a Jackson Supercharger, if i get a Turbo or a Supercharger, what kind of engine modifications do i need? I don't want to change the tranny yet, but was wondering if there was something i can do i keep it from dying and savee the power. Need help with the set up. Ultimately i want to run either FI with nos. Thanks
not to be mean but try the search feature, a plethera of information awaits you young one!!

If you had a Gsr I'd say get the JRSC or the greddy turbo kit, but with the LS I would NEVER go JRSC. They use the same blower M45 that comes on the civic ex kit. Go with a custom kit or Greddy if carb legal is important to you.

JRSC on LS Integra has left many unsatisfied customers.
Go turbo with that engine definitely.

.Save yourself some $$ and buy a manual before you turbo.
Go turbo!! I've had it for almost 3 years and 50,000 miles and no problems. My car is a 1995 teg 110K miles.
Well, at one time I owned a Automatic Civic with a Greddy turbo kit and it had slight fittment issues because the Auto Transmission takes up a lot more engine space. Also I was never happy with the turbo lag on an Auto Tranny even with a little more boost and a custom intercooler.
Anyways, I currently own a JRSC Integra Gsr...not a bad buy but I also know the Charger that they use for the LS isn't nearly as good as the ones for the GSR. In my opinion I wouldn't pay all that money for a Supercharger that is gonna net you something like 165-170 whp.
You did however say that you were gonna eventually use nos with either set-up. I personally would start with just the nos and some awesome tuning and see how that goes. Much cheaper bang for the buck horsepower (if you don't consider the countless refills)...and if your not happy with that you can always do the Turbo or Supercharger set up and change to a smaller nos jet later.

I'm not trying to offend anybody here but all 4 cylinder superchargers SUCK!
A turbocharger will hand a SC its *** anyday of the week even on holidays!
Get a turbo kit for your LS and buy a manual tranny and convert it to manual. The turbo kit is always easily adjustable in terms of HP and gets more effective power to the ground. Besides it looks better (Front Mount intercooler) and sounds better (BOV) also.

Maddskilzz..... I was actually expecting a comment like that and no I'm not too offended. I plan on buying a turbo kit once the charger gives out on me.
In my opinion, people who purchase the greddy kit or the JRSC are looking for either street legal stuff or more likely they've been convinced that the low boost levels of 6 to 8lbs couldn't possibly damage their engines.
I also can tell you that stock greddy kit compared to the stock JRSC kit both on GSR's are not that much of a power difference because they both run fairly low boost. I can give you my real world racing experiences. I usually ran high 13 second 1/4 miles on street tires and so do most of the greddy GSR I've ran. At the track, base kit against base kit I'm 4 wins to 2 losses. On one of those wins I ran a 13.9 to a losing 13.7. How could I have won? Well a driver can make up some space with a better reaction time as I did.
On another occasion, not on a track. Me and this guy did two pulls from 75mph on up. Downshifting to 3rd as we started. 1st time, he downshifts first and I slowly creep past him in 3rd and by mid 4th gear he quits. 2nd time, we shift together and the same thing happened except for this time he doesn't quit and at the end of my 4th gear he catches back up and fast. Now if we had gotten to stay in fifth gear it was apparent that he would have walked away from me but we were already around 130mph range and running out of straightaway and luckily for my dignity he backs off.
I do have a couple of accaintances with JRSC whom with 10lb boost pulleys and better tuning upgrades. One has a better fmu (adjustable) + injectors etc., the other runs a standalone + injectors etc. Both spent many hours tuning on dynos and both were running mid 12's on slicks. Not bad in my opinion. I also have friends with good turbo set-ups putting down nearly 400whp but not on the greddy kit and boosting way more than 10lbs.
But like I first stated I'm going turbo when the charger dies, because I sure as **** aint gonna be happy with only 10lbs of boost for long. The charger will have issues with heat & wear past the 10psi mark; and a Drag turbo cranked to 15-20psi on a freshly built Golden Eagle Block with a full standalone engine management makes me drool (like Homer Simpson).
To recap my ranting. Both kits + low boost, stock for stock = boring after awhile. In my previous post I advised against the LS supercharger and this post I basically plugged a Drag kit. You make the call.
P.S. Sorry about the lengthly post and to anyone who tried to read it all.

Thanks for the info. i did not find that lenthy at all. i was looking for something that informative and after reading all of the replies, i'm confident to go with the turbo. But before i do, i am a little hesitant because i want to build my engine. Other than getting pistons, rods and sleeves, what other things do i need to take into consideration so i can build my engine correctly. And what kind of parts/ set up do you reccomend?
one more thing, is there anything that can prolong the life of my auto tranny when the turbo is installed?

Please oh Please do not slap on that turbo kit with that auto tranny, you dont know me but you will thank me later. Theres a guy on here runs high 15's in a turbo Ls auto, its a rev hard kit if i can remember. No offense but wouldnt you be pissed if you spent $3k to run high 15's And then you have Direp972, same setup but manual tranny pulling out a 13.3 on a bone stock Ls @ 8 or 9 psi.
About you building the motor if your on a limited budget and lets say have 5k to spend do the manual changeover and then slap on the turbo kit. If you have about 8 k then do all three, manaul conversion, turbo, and built bottem end.
If you only have 3k and much as your tempted to buy the turbo sell it and buy another ls ( manual) and use your 3 grand for the turbo.
I speak from experience and making mistakes in this sport sucks. Ask me how it feels to be paying credit card bills for mods and stuff that you are no longer in possesion of
Its good you are doing your research before making a huge desicion
good luck

There is a guy here with an Greddy Turboed Auto LS. I don't remember his name and can't find his post anymore. I wanted to ask him what was his ets. i just remember his saying it was a **** load better than the stock. and all he had was what came out of the box and an auto tranny cooler. I i'm not mistaken he beat a one of those VW hatch VR6? i don't remember...

here we go again.
