Just get a new swap. Do you seek a B18A or a B18B?

So you were going 70 and shifted into 3rd and you call the other guy a kid..?

Also I hope it was the four banger version because if it was the v6 you most likely would have gotten raped...

Either way just get a new swap and learn 2 drive next time.

hahaha nah son he was gonna stomp his ***. and you downshifting your car into third at 70 miles per hour? i dont understand why that would cause any kind of mechanical failure...i mean im sure my block is nowhere near the same as yours. but i downshift to third at that speed. of course my revlimiter is 9500. but i dont understand why you were out on the hard skreetz tryin to chi-town stomp his *** s0n

If I remember correctly the rev limiter wouldnt stop a overrev which is what usually happens when you drop into low gears at high mph. Kinda like the guys who do the classic 2-3-2 situation.

If he had a built motor he wouldn't be making this post would he? Also dont you think he would want to REBUILD the built motor instead of getting a swap?

i think maybe u might of been doing a bit more mile then that and just didnt notice so when u drop it it was a way do much too rpm for your bottom end what u have an LS bottom cuz that only made for about 6800 putting it like 7200.

and if u thinking about about bottom block go with the b20 so u can have more torque in the beginning and your have your HP from your B18C head so u have the best of both that would be a pretty sick build thats just my 2 cent

How in the world would an electronic rev limiter prevent an engine from being overrevved when you downshift and let out the clutch? The engine is going to spin however fast it's going to spin regardless of whether you've got spark or not, lol.

Thats what I said...when you downshift the rev limiter wouldn't stop the engine from overreving which is why misshifting can damage engined. Can you not read?

if i'm in 4th doing 70, i would go down into 3rd in a heartbeat, especially with a gsr tranny that doesn't redline 3rd until 90mph, done it a BUNCH of times....

iv just got the standard jdm b18c which redlines at 84-8500 so poppin into 3rd at 70mph wasnt that big of a deal, i too, have done in many times in the past so im not exactly sure why things went wrong this time. but yeah the b20v would be sweet. im thinking about getting that block and upgrading the internals then upgrading the valvetrain and cams on my gsr head?? opinions? or maybe the b18c type r swap
