hey guys, i have a 1999 civic dx, i wanna get an intake, maybe an ebay intake, or K&N, do you know what the horsepower gain is for any intake. For example, he is an ebay cai, http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1999-...Q5fAccessories, how much hp will that give me?

well, mostly.

a lot of ebay intake tubes are too big and where they meet the throttle body they have to use a reducer coupler, which restricts airflow.

but for the most part, yea, it's the same besides the filter.

OP: maybe 2hp lol

last time i checked, theyre all cheap aluminum pipe, mandrel bent(if anyone got a crush bend pipe you just got screwed in the butt) and my 40 dollar ebay intake ran the filter to the exact same location as my 250 dollar Injen cold air... its a complete waste of money to go out and spend 150-300 bucks on a piece of aluminum pipe. im definitely voting on gettin an ebay intake, and they do have them on there that are the same size as the throttle body, I'd suggest pickin up an HKS foam filter. if you dont wanna spend that much, definitely get a K&N. good luck with your decision!
