revs high at idle
when i start my car in the morning it revs to 2 1/2 to 3 till it worms up then 1 to 1 1/2 and proceeds to do so im thinking its the throttle position sensor but i dont know help me out its really getting annoying (b18b1) LS integra
my car was plagued with all the weird idling issues awhile back, I would suggest cleaning and adjusting the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV). Theirs a how to on honda-tech somewhere, maybe someone will chime in or you can search and find it.
I replaced my TPS sensor along with the MAP and IACV. I'm pretty sure it's not your tps. Plus it doesn't cost you anything to clean your existing sensors. I hope this helps.

okay i know hondas do that when its cold out but it should rev that high its way to high and its getting worse.... and if some one could give me the link to that it would be awsome i cant seem to find it .... thx
Check for vac leaks on your intake manifold and other vac sources. Also clean out your IACV and your FITV as well to see if it helps.
Also dont listen to these other guys, its not "normal" and most likely it is something small to fix. I have a turbo car on 1000cc injectors and that bitch will idle at 900rpm smoothly so there is no excuse your stock car cannot do that.

this is one of the most common causes. it shouldn't go past 2k on startup, they normally run 1200-1500 a few seconds after starting. the brief blip to 1600-2000 is normal within the first couple seconds after starting. 3k is not normal at all. the TB screw or vacuum leak are my guesses.
900 is fine that actually about right 400-500 is pretty low lol but any ways ya when i started it this mornign it went to 4000 so im just gonna replace the tcs the throttle body intake manifold and hope taht fixs it casue i was gonna do that anyway puting a 68 mm throttle body on it and a skunk to intake manifold
continuing on this issue... i have yet to recieve my parts on the way tho lol any ways i waqs nessing with the thottlebody and it ran fine i shut it off and started up still ran fine so i went into town with a freind and left me car and came back and it was doing it again so this leads me to believe that its the tps...what are your opionons
Once again, the IACV is not a difficult part to check, and it operates basically as an electronic choke for the vehicle. It will make the car run a little high at startup, then it kicks off when the car is warm. Also, if your car is OBD0 or OBD1, you need to check the FITV (also not difficult to clean). The IACV is on the back of the Intake Manifold, held in by 2 10mm (i think) bolts, a sensor, and 2 coolant lines. The FITV (if applicable) will be underneath the throttle body. If you clean those out and it's still doing it, check your idle screw on the TB, and make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Also, unplugging your IACV, FITV, or TPS while at idle might help you diagnose. Don't diagnose until the vehicle is warm though.
okay update i pulled the iavc off and cleaned it pulled the sensors off one by one to see if and made a difrence the only one that did not make a difrence in the way it ran was the fast idle control valve so i have one of these parts sitting at my house waiting for me just go there today so im gonna change it out and see if it helps
okay well i got a second question ever since this has started ive started blowing smoke like crazy and it still running all messed its pissing me off and idk what to do anymore im getting confused (will loss of compresion casue that?)
