Hey all,

Searching for a turbo kit for my 01 GSR (stock setup). Was looking at a full race kit when I stumbled onto Jeff Evan's site (www.evans-tuning.com) for those who don't know. I discovered that he sells his own kits. I was wondering if anyone has used or is using one of these kits? To me it seems worth the price. Just looking for some feed back. Id trust jeffs kits hes been doing this for a long time and ive heard customer service is fantastic....

 

props to jeff, he knows his stuff and is always willing to help.

We decided to stop selling these about a year ago. Charge piping fitment was not perfect between different cars, so we choose not to continue to sell them. The kits were supposed to be removed from our site, but apparently our web admin did not remove them. Sorry for the confusion.

if u cant find a kit then why not just piece together stuff urself? i was gonna do a kit but then i realized that not all the pieces in those kits were worth it......check out

not sure what prices ur lookin for but these guys did my manifold and my tuning...great guys and they know how to get things done....

 

I think I'd end up spending more money then I would like to if I built my own kit and/or miss pieces/parts that would come with a complete kit. I'm looking to spend like no more then $4k on the setup, cuz I'd still need to get injectors, engine management, fuel pump, oil catch can, exhaust, etc. Then after all that get it tuned by Mr. Evans.

the synapse b series kit is just around 3,ooo$ to start and u get to choose ur stuff u want and if u want other pieces they have options...just will add more to ur bill.... they r great guys and make awesome parts...i have a ramhorn mani made by them...looks great and has no problems....

 

Agreed. I was looking at there B Series Ramhorn Turbo Kit. Looks like its put together well and I love that I can customize it to my needs. Link to kit below:

they r in albany/schenectady area of NY.... so atleast its not half way around the country lol.....ik alot of people that go through them for stuff.....i only bought the turbo,mani, and wastegate from them but they were awesome wit gettin my stuff done at the time i needed it...and they even did me a favor by fittin me in for a tune at last minute....

 

i was tryin to find the guy i talked to on here but since they changed from zero-forum i dont have his name now....

 

You can't go wrong with Evans or Mike @ Synapse. Both are excellent to deal with and have great parts that will work.

My money goes to Evans because he has his own support forum and has helped my customers and I countless times.

 

think a .63 trim is good for a 300hp stock gsr engine daily driver? Looking for good midrange power.

upgrade to a 30r & you'll enjoy the fast spool, or a disco potato 28r which will also meet your goals & spool extremely fast & tons of fun for the street.
I've always been a fan of the bb turbos for a street car, it's worth the extra few beans.

 

worth the money if u can get it in ur budget......if hes got a budge that def cant be overspent then its gonna be hard to do....but if u got extra $ then hells yeah

 

You could check out AFI (Arizona Forced Induction) I have heard nothing but good about these kits if thats what your in the market for. Complete kits I believe last I saw was ~2500 or so. Give you tons of options for upgrading turbo IC etc. Check in the For Sale section in Forced Induction Sponsors market.
