Can someone please tell me what guage is the metal in a Engine bay in a Honda?? We had our Mig welder set as 22 guage and it would burn through.Now we are going to cut pieces of sheet metal and stick them underneath the holes and weld through the hole to fill it in???

 

then you are welding it to slow or trying to go vertical up or something silly like that.

 

turn up the wire feed, or weld faster.
Also before you begin make sure you dont have any shielding gas leaks.-could contribute to burn-through.
If your filling holes,a copper backing plate would allow you to fill your holes with just the welding wire as copper wont melt into the puddle.(has a much higher melting temp.)
