coilovers won't fit. 6th gen accord
my friend purchase a buddy club racing spec coilovers for 6th gen accord? when they tried to install it, it won't fit.. the pillow mount is a lil smaller compared with the oem struts but has the same number of bolts..
are all 6th gen accord the same in terms of pillow mounts?
here is the picture of the coil overs

btw, we also compared the holes with his cusco upper strutbar.. hole pattern is the same but the pillow mount is a little smaller..

I have swapped OEM top hats between 2 different 6th gens (99 coupe and 02 SE) and had them be just a RCH off. So yeah, what you say isn't unheard of. They were so close that I just ended up opening the hole in the shock tower up just a little bit.
so... what would be your best advice? someone told me that i can have the pillow mount fabricated.. is it safe?
and the big question is... why is that the coilovers won't fit? it says there that it's for 6th gen accord.. rear fits well but the front aint..
is there a difference between the coupe and the sedans pillow mount?

i think you should call the manufacture and give them the part numbers on your coilovers and explain your situation to them and maybe they will know what the problem is ... factory top hats should work ... it's what tein tells you to use on some of their coilovers ... i would'nt spend the money to fabricate some since you don't have the pillow ball feature ... it would be pointless

guys, we just found out that the @#% coilover is for a 7th gen accord! d%!@!
anyway, can we still use it with fabricated pillow mount?
for the spanners, can we use tein spanners?
about the drop, we installed the rear coils, drop is like negative with 205/45 r17 tires..

i don't know if the tein spanner wrench will work since the spanners are different ... it looks like they might but the only way to find out is to try them out ... as far as i've heard pillow mount is worthless on 6th gens ... so there's no point in wasting money to fab one ... did you ever try using your factory top hats?
