2008 Civic - Differential Fluid
Si or DX/LX/EX? If DX/LX/EX, auto or manual? The owners manual has a wealth of information in it.
Swing by your local Honda dealer and get Honda MTF or ATF, whichever is applicable, simple as that. Your local Honda dealer will give you a lot more accurate info quicker.

Bro, this is not about what's best. The thread was created to find out what the car needed. When in doubt use Honda fluids or equivalent. When you are knowledgeable and can formulate what's best for you then add WHATEVER you want.
You can't go wrong with OEM and when you don't know OEM is best.

Na your right ! when in doubt use whats called for , my comment was more geared towards honda counter helper up there , who thinks the honda fluid is a god of some sort. I meen considering that not even the company's using these as race cars are using the ever so superior honda fluids. hmmmmmm..kinda strange..lol
as far as a basically driven car , really not pushed ! yes the honda fluid is by all means better than the average crap your gonna find on the shelf in walmart , but just because you work the counter at the Honda or whatever dealer doesnt meen its time to swear that their fluids are best in our cars.
sometimes dif mods will require dif fluid needs , not that this was the asked question to begin with , but I as well have friends that work out of my local H dealer and even they will tell you to use Amsoil, GM syncro fluid with additives, Enios .. so I would have to assume that his knowledge of our fluids is gun pressing to head driven here.
IDK I just hate when someone wants to call best just because they work for that company in some way, yet knowing full well that the techs that work at my H dealer who all have well done modded cars wont even stand behind it.
that was my point, but again you were right in sayiny just use what the manual recomends, you however did not say honda fluids are the best an you should only use their products, therfore you win , honda counter parts man loses.
Lisa there is not enough info on your specific car to answer your question.
The Honda fluids are fine for a top-off, you can contact your local Honda dealer. For a change-out I prefer the Amsoil products.
The other question is why is the fluid low?
let us know
Mike
