My engine bay is dirty from years of build up. What do you guys use to clean and make it look like new? Products? Tools? Is rinsing require?
I cover up the intake filter if you have an aftermarket intake, the alternator, and any wiring you dont want to get wet. Then I spray down the whole bay with degreaser(simple green). Then I spray the bay down with a power washer and let it dry completely.
It's perfectly fine to use a power washer.

I detail about four to five cars a day and all of them get the same powerwashing under the hood. I've never fried an alternator and I've never saturated the spark plugs. Just stay away from the electrical stuff and I usually stand back about three feet while rinsing.
Don't use the powerwasher to clean, just to rinse. Use a good degreaser, not just brake kleen or whatever and make sure its easy on the painted surfaces. Some degreasers strip paint don't forget that! Good luck!!!
Hmmm cool i guess those Master technicians at WYOTECH and those books lied to us
DAMMIT i feel cheated out i payed 22 thousand to get schooled by LOSER MASTER TECHS ! I'm going back to Honda and telling them not to use that question when diagnosing a connector problem I HATE THE WORLD !
