Windshield Wipers stopped working
I have a 1991 Honda CRX Si and just today the windshield wipers stopped working. when I got home I turned them on and I could hear that they were trying to work but they were not moving. Can anyone tell me what this may be and what parts I need?
Thanks in advance.

unfortunately it was not the bolt. When I turn them on, you can hear that they are trying to move but cannot. Then you will hear a loud thump with the faint smell of something burning. Any Ideas?
Sounds like the motor is burning up, which from my experience is not cheap. I had the same problem only it was that my nut was loose and stripped the wipers threads; Ended up having to buy all new wipers and blades. It was a fowl day!
Under the cowl there is a rod that connects the wiper motor to the wiper arms. The rod has a plastic bushing that snaps onto a ball joint. This wears out and it pops off. You can put it back together and it will immediately pop off again the next time you use your wiper. No auto parts stores sell the bushing for Honda's and the dealer is the only option. They don't sell the bushing by itself, they sell the bushing with the rod. Expect to pay no $18-25 depending on what you dealer charges for parts.
