Default Help. What is wrong with my b16

overheated and had to drive home, coolant burned, i refilled it when i got home and when i started it i had white smoke from exhaust and the idle was bouncing from 2500 to 1000. posted here and everyone was telling me head gasket..so i pulled my head and the gasket looks fine, could it still be the gasket? i dont have the time or money for this, i already have a new gasket. Any other ideas of what it could be?

depending on how long it was overheating it could be a warped head.

You will need to get a new gasket and have the head resurfaced. Just because "you blew the head gasket" it doesnt mean there will be visual signs on the gasket. also you will need to find out why the car over heated. cause once you replace the gasket and get it back together you might just still have the over heating problem that created your issue. maybe you where just low on coolant or maybe your t-stat was bad. usually the only problems that lead to a blown headgasket. besides a failed waterpump. but i have only seen that happen once in my 10 years of working on honda's.

i brought it to a shop that me and my friends always go to to get our parts and cars worked on..they inspected the old gasket and said it looked fine....and that the head may be warped....so im pretty sure its not the gasket that is the prob, im leaning towards a warped head now....anyone know a estimate of getting it resurfaced? im pretty low on cash
