EP3 Fuel Pump Help
Either my fuel pump or my fuel filter are currently failing under high demands, aka starting, heavy acceleration, and over 5000 rpms. Unfortunately you can't replace just the filter without replacing the entire canister assembly.
My question is: Honda wants $265 for a factory fuel pump assembly. I plan to either turbo or a2 swap within the next 6 months. I immediately thought "just replace with a walbro 255 HP while it's down", but I noticed they are "intended for a return - type fuel system." From my understanding, that requires running additional fuel lines, installing an inline fuel filter, and installing an inline fuel pressure regulator...which will put me well over $265.
Am I mistaken about the Walbro's? Any suggestions on what I should do? I doubt the factory fuel pump can handle a turbo application, but I could be wrong. Thanks for any input.
(I've searched through about 20 threads, and couldn't find the exact answer I was looking for. Most of them say, "replace the fuel pump with a walbro for 100 bucks, but don't go into detail about what else that entails)
