I have a 96 Accord with a stock exhaust now. I've had a Invidia on it in the past. While it sounded good it didn't sound at all like this one.

Anyway, I was riding on the motorcycle today and one came the other direction towards me. It was either a 96 or 97. Had a body kit and aftermarket exhaust and who knows what else. When it came by me not on the gas just cruising I swear that thing sounded like a Mustang or sometime similar. It wasn't high pitched at all. Just really sounded like a V8. It was super loud but had that low rumble to it. I've never heard a Honda that has sounded like this. Any idea's of what it could have been?

I don't plan to change my exhaust but I'm just curious about this as it was the best sounding Accord I've ever heard.

I tried to look but it going by me and me being on the bike I couldn't tell. I would love to see the car again sometime and talk to them. I've seen the car around a few times before too but this is the first time I've gotten to hear how well it sounded. One time I saw it it was sitting at a stop light.

I've just never heard a Honda that had that mean low rumble to it going by.

 

Hit up the youtube and check out like glass packs and cherry bombs. I wager that was similar to the sound you heard. A lot of domestic guys have those on their car.

Might have been a 40 series flowmaster (or magnaflow?). Those can sound pretty mean even on a 4 banger!

Cherry Bombs burn out pretty quickly. Unless you can replace them quite often, I wouldnt bother.
