If you lower your goals a little for the turbo setup, you could easily hit it on the stock block. Currently, your goals are pretty high unless you have access to E85 or plan to run 100+ octane.

My suggestion would be to locate a GT3255e, SLS mini-ram and a full 3" exhaust. Tune that on ~11-12psi and you should be in the 325-340whp range. That will be enough power to be fun on the street yet safe on the engine. I have a dyno of a similar turbo (GT3255b) on my stock GSR @ 315/216 if you want to see the potential powerband.

SEARCH

there is no set 'pounds that are safe' for any motor. 10psi on a 16g will give you much less power than 10psi on a gt35r.

It all about the tune and the power output, not the psi. B18c5 especially needs a good tune since its high compression.

The cost-effective NA way would be to sell the C5 and build a C1. You'd end up with the same amount invested with a piston/rod/cam C1 as you would a stock C5. The problem is its still NA, and you need a lot of fine-tuning for 12's.

A stock C5 would handle 300 all day and 400 at the track. However, its still more cost-effective to use a piston/rod C1. A stock Z6 head can make 420whp (research EPIC HATCH), so a C1 head can make more than you need.

If you really want a C5 as a badge of honor, you might want to read a couple FI books like Maximum Boost before you take the plunge.
