Default got a skunk2 lower rear tie brace? what did you do here?

hey guys check this out, when i bought my skunk2 lower rear tie brace it came with 2 sets of spacers. I presume that this is because the bar fits various applications, dc2, eg.... So i mount the bar, but the bar wouldn't go on at first because the lines got in the way? either they are abs, brake lines,... something, i didn't even bother to look and still haven't, but i just zip tied them to the bar but IMO, that TACKY and i'm sure there is an accomplished way to go about this, what did you guys do? Notice the yellow zip ties holding the line from sagging?

im guessing the spacers are to give clearance for the brake line and bracket.

i used the deepest spacer, and it only cleared the red subframe by about 1/10th of an inch, i would need a spacer roughly 1/4" thicker to accomodate for the brake line.. I know you can't see the spacer but its there, between the spherical joint and the chassis.

I ordered the password jdm bar and it didnt fit with the ABS brackets!

I called and they told me to zip tie the brackets like you did...

Interested to see what people have done.

i agree, because anytime i see this product on skunk2's site or anywhere else as an advertised product, its always on a car without abs so there is no need for them to hide it.

you can run them behind your control arms and zip tie them behind the subframe and they arent noticeable at all that what i did with mine when i put my ASR brace on. but i also have skunk2 control arms so they were completely hanging

well it would make sense to me for the aftermarket parts manufacturers to resolve this issue by having a threaded hole or such for the bracket to mount to on the bar.

or you could do some research and know what you are buying. Skunk2 is a very reputable company and they have their tech info on point, as someone said this is usualy for cars without abs. If this is your first mod you will soon find out not everything is as plug and play as they would like you to believe.

first mod? ha i have about 15,000 in mods already, some of those are skunk2 parts, i'm very well familiar with skunk2's ability to produce their parts, as myself i am an engineer and design parts for a living. Thanks for your input, but no thanks! Btw the part is made for an integra, in which most integra's have ABS.

Comptech FTMFW!

It has a grove cut into the back you stuff the ABS line into (after removing the brackets). Keeps it out of the way and prevents pinching it during install of the bar.

my friend got the exact one or his 2000 ex civic and it came with 4 spacers i think and 2 long bolts. they are longer cuz of the spacers, the spacers go into the bearng and help it pivot.we didnt have any issue with the break lines or abs lines?

yes correct, it comes with 4 spacers, my application fits the eg civic and the dc2, i presume the shorter spacers are for the eg - because of drums in the back, no abs, and the longer for the integra, though in the pic i have the longer spacers installed and it still barely clears the metal portion, if the bolts were long enough it would be as if i would have to used all 4 spacers to accomplish what i need.
