Im going to be painting a vavle cover and whats the best heat resistant spray paint i can get from either auto zone or a hardware store

You really don't need paint that is very heat resistant to do a VC. Caliper paint is biiig time over kill! I usually use Duplicolor 500* because I have it laying around, but people paint them with just normal autopaint all the time too. Strip it to metal with an aircraft stripper, prime it (even the cheap stuff works fine), and then pick the paint of your choice.
