Dc2 dashboard VIN removal
Just an FYI, I am not a thief. I was wondering if there is a way of changing the VIN number on the dashboard without damaging my dashboard. The reason I would like to know this is because I bought a teggy and the previous owner was a retard and decided to drill whole in the dash for an aftermarket tach, and he remove the dimmer and cruise control switch and dremeled it bigger to fit gauges, and he also dremmeled the O.E clock location to put an afc. Now that I have the car I remove thebold dash and bought a dashboard from the junkyard but I want to put the VIN plate from my old dash onto the new one. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance guys and girls.

Ok first question: do I need a special tool to install new rivets? And number 2 : won't drilling the rivets crack the dash? Thanks. I just want this project to be flawless.
when i swapped a dash in a theft-recovery integra i simply ripped the vin plate out with pliers and left the space blank. i had no problem passing the inspection with that. this is in idaho fyi, might be different for your state.

I'm in Florida and we don't have inspections at all. I want to replace the VIN because I don't want VINs from another car in my car and I have my old dash so why not if it's possible. I want to be very picky with this build so it can come on sick as hell to every detail.

i recently replaced my old dash with a newer one. I drilled right through the center of the rivet with a small drill bit. Have someone else help you hold the dash so you don't place too much pressure on it when drilling (please watch your hands). when i replaced it onto the new dash i simply used small screws with nuts to secure them from underneath. lmk if you want pics.

i know here(california)
we just go to Highway patrol and get a blue tag.
basicly replaces the vin with another vin.
same process when we get jdm motors. or more or less the "proper" process
