Default Ask for B20 build

Now, I've built b20 w/ VTEC head (PR3).

*before changed to B20
I was used B18C shortblock before.... w/ wiseco Hi-Comp piston, Clevite Bearing, and Stock for the other block components.
And for the cylinder head I use Toda-B camshaft,

*Now.....
And now, I want to upgrade my engine,, so I choose to change my short block from B18c to B20b, it is worth??? and Safe to do it w keep internal stock components???? like :

- If I keep use stock pistons? because I have minimum budget.

- What Comp.Ratio may produce from mix B16 Vtec head w/ B20B shortblock w/ stock internal?

- If I want to change Pistons with "F20 accord 92" pistons, Give me ur suggestion...

- Which Honda's Stock pistons is the best for B20??? is that their stock pistons?? or I can change it?? If yes, with what?

- And if we talking about another stock components like Con.rods, n Bearing, is that enough if we wanna race with it?? is that strong?

- And how about block guard???? is that really important..

- If I use stock internal, how much rpm is safe for it??? How about 9000rpms??? is that too high ??

- Which is better for vtec oil line adapter??? oil switch or oil filter??

THx u very much :D

Dude....chill the f*ck out! Why is every NEWB so f*cking DEMANDING?!

Read the All Motor Dyno thread. See what works
Read the B20 stock sleeve build thread. See what works

Go to www.zealautowerks.com

play with different pieces to see what kind of CR you'll make with different combos.

You can buy aftermarket cast pistons from RS Machines in different bores and dome sizes (ITR, P30, etc).

Go, read..... come back and ask educated questions.

Why get a b20 block an tear it down for nothing unless your going to boost it? That's fricken retarded. Just slap the b16 head on the b20block an be done with it. Find out the compression ratio when you get the motor built. Simple as that. How would it not be safe? It's been done time an time again. So if you swapped out a d15b7 an installed a gsr motor in its not going to be safe? lol omg.

Asuming the op is planning to reuse the toda b's, use the motor for racing, and go to 9000rpm,
your saying you dont forsee a problem with using a stock b20 block for this?
Nothing at all should be done? "Dont tear it down for nothing unless your going to boost it".......now thats lol omg.

Someone might say the valves clear the pistons with those cams, but as for the longetivity with the stock rod bolts, I think the motor would only be an experiment with how long it lasts.

Yeah...that's nuts! I really don't know what piston you'd use if you're trying to use OEM Honda parts.

I actually had no clue why you were talking about using F20 pistons. Now, I see...b/c of the cost of importing race parts. Not usually something people have to deal with. How was I supposed to know pistons cost a small fortune over there? I would've suggested RS pistons and an inexpensive forged rod for a budget build.

IF you're going to use all stock components, I think you'd be better off staying w/ the B18C block. Your rods and more importantly ROD BOLTS are going to be your weak point.

Would you benefit from the extra displacement? Yes.
Honestly, if you're trying to turn the thing to 9k regularly and keep it up there, I wouldn't do that w/ a stock LS/B20 rod. Lots of guys do....it wouldn't be my choice.
