Default questions about break-in

Hi I just recently did a fresh rebuild on a 95 gsr motor, this is whats in it...

-81.5mm rs machine itr pistons
-arp rod bolts/head studs
-acl bearings
-all new gaskets
-supertech valves/springs/tit. retainers
-stock cams
-all new tune up

My question is ive only recently started it up a few times letting it idle a bit and revving it a bit too. My concern is that I am running open header right now until i get the car to the exhaust shop. here are my questions about the break in. currently i used the shittiest oil i could find because i heard that was good for a break in and a new fram filter (im saving my hamp filter for after break in.

-how exactly should i break this motor in?

-should i be using my magnetic drain plug for break in or after break in?

-is it safe to break in/drive it to the exhaust shop about 5 miles away with the car having an open header?

Also please give me any tips you may have or signs to watch out for during this time period. This is my first tear down/full rebuild so im nervous seeing i have alot of money in time and labor here.

Thanks in advance...

best way, tow the car to muffler shop, get street tune before driving it to the dyno, once u get to the dyno, do some dyno break in sessions, then let it all loose!!

Read the FAQ's because theirs no one way that everybody does this.
I used conventional 5w30 (the oil I use anyway), and I drained my oil after letting the motor idle for the first 15min of initial startup.

As far as change intervals, I've changed oil+filter by the change intervals suggested in Bam's LS/VTEC thread, something like the first (20,50,100,500,1000 mile intervals).

warm it up, check for leaks, drive it to the muffler shop and get your exhaust done. if the tune is on the money drive it like you are going to drive it. vary the RPM and thrust the ringpack against the cylinder walls.
you arent going to damage anything by running it hard unless the tune is off or you have a mechanical problem.

with the mild setup you listed idk if you would need to spend the money to have it tuned. maybe if you have a friend with a wideband put it on there and you could probably dial the fuel in with a FPR. if the engine knocks at all retard the dist until it stops

Again, read the faq's. Read the initial start-up, and break-in stickys, theirs a description on how you can go about doing this there.
