So, all of a sudden one day when I went to open the rear hatch/trunk on my 2 door Integra, the hatch itself was WAY heavy to open. Not only that, but it would no longer stay up. If I let go of it, it would slam, shut real hard! Anyone know what caused this? (Or how to fix it?)

 

Old hatch shocks... the only fix is new ones

 

I see, how hard are they to replace by yourself/with a friend?

 

not hard its four bolts and all you would need is a long stick or something to hold the hatch up...
dont try it with the hatch closed this is very hard cause the shocks like to stay in the extended position
