my paint problem
So i sold my 4 yr project car right befor winter came. Wanted to get out of the scene because i have a child on the way and yada yada. So i sold it to someone i have known for awhile and knows what i have done to the car. Said he would take good care of it. Ha, this leads me to my problem. The car ran a good 12 sec pass last year. Also, looked good doing such with a new paint job that had been done. Well, this tool decided to try and "paint it himself" now he has it sanded down to primer he sprayed on himseld and bare metal in some spots. So, i bought the car back because i felt she was being neglected. Lol Now i need to know what i can do to fix this. There are scratches everywhere like he used to high of a grit of sandpaper. What grit should i use to make everything look pretty even? Also, should it be wet sanded or not? Air tools, or done by hand? ive been doing some research but thought i would post my own thred for ideas and comments. Also, will a primer fill some of these in? It just looks horrible now. Just need ideas on the grit and way of doing such, also what will work best as my primer when i go to respray.
thanks for any help
thanks for any help
you can use 220 or 320 to get the entire car even. then you would spray the car with a good high build primer, then block sand it with either wet 320,400 or 600 all depends on how much time you want to take or how good you want it to look. then spray your base then clear. wet sand and buff. done. lol
