hey can i use the full coil overs/suspension form a 94-99 teg they have the spring/struts, pulled off a teg with coil overs can i put that in my ef??? its a 91

 

i believe they will work but the car will sit much taller even though they are coilovers, and you will prob bottom out the spring on the sleve before the car is actually lower than stock. im not sure about the geometry of it though. hopefully a suspension guru will chime in.

 

well i guess i can just buy coil overs, but hears my problem, how do i take apart the struts them selves to put the new coil overs on i could not get it apart when i was gonna do it thanks

 

ur gonna have to compress the spring w/ a tool (they rent them at autozone ect...) and after that theres a nut on the top w/ a hex stud. ur gonna hold the stud w/ an allen key and turn the nut w/ the wrentch. but make sure the spring compressor is seated all the way because ive seen them fly across the shop and break someones window or worse... and when u have the spring out ur gonna slide the sleve over the shock body along w/ o-rings (if supplied) then do it in reverse order and torque everything down

no not off the top of my head but if u go to www.autozone.com u can get free repair manuals and they have the torque specs on them

rent them i dunno. just search specialty tool places around ur area and im sure something will come up. i picked up an ac delco knock off one from murrays by me for 150 or 200 and a stand for 50, but that was also 3 years ago. it does what its supposed to do. but if ur gonna only use it once i wouldnt reccomend buyin one

 

oh and theres also a writeup in the faq forum here that explains on how to remove/put in an engine w/ out a hoist. requires jacking up the car about 2 feet though

 

baha does it say how to get a engine out of a civic trunk with out one?? hahaha i would search for it because thats how im doing it when i swap, but the search function effin blows!
