Default OBD1 Vs OBD2 Oil pump on a OBD1 block-

Hey everyone- Im beginning to order parts and am wondering what to do with the oil pump-

A) Purchase OBD1 pump for 135, keep plastics that I have

B) Purchase OBD2 pump for 97, buy plastics for 38- (then sell my plastics) This would be less expensive.

So is there any advantage to the OBD2 pump? By buying the OBD2 plastics, will the top ones that I have (OBD1) bolt right on no problem to the bottom (OBD2) ?

The advantage to an OBD2 VTEC pump is that it's the same as a Type-R so it will give you that few PSI more pressure...

...or you just take out the washer on the relief valve and that's the only difference of a Type-R.

Nah, not worth rebuilding. Unlikely you'll have a problem with a used one unless the engines been neglected, but if you even end up with bad side clearance youll be looking for a new one anyhow.
