Default 91 accord check engine light

First i would like to say that i searched the forums for my problem or something similar and found nothing. If i missed, then i am sorry. dont want to waist anybodys time.
1991 Accord ex 2 door.

I swapped my auto trans for a manual. Bought a 92 accord ex 2 dr manual for the transplant. At the same time replace the engine and the whole wiring harness(brand new for dash, engine and main harness). everything on my accord was from a 91 now it is a 92. The problem started when I realized that I was still using the ecu that came with my car. I decided to replace it with the 92 accord ecu and all of sudden the check engine light came on. It registered code 9(No.1 cyclinder position). So i changed the distributor and same problem. I follow my haynes booklet for all the test and everything checked out okay as far the distributor goes(on both). The only two things i can think of is either the ecu has a problem or the wiring is has a open connection. The project has been done three years ago and recently I changed the Ecu. ( also the new harnesses i bought came from honda and they where oredered by vin number).

Any Ideas ?

If you followed the haynes diagnostic procedure it should have said something about checking resistance of the wires for that sensor. If you did that and it checked out ok. then reconnect the connecter and test the resistance of the wires at the ECU harness, that will tell you if the rest of the wiring is ok.

I had an ECU that was bad and caused a similar problem and had to go though all that diagnosis. Is there any oil coming dripping out of the cap? Oil can leak through and cause problems.

No there is no oil coming out of the cap. Just replace with a new one. evrything seems to be okay. I''' check the resistance from coming out of the ecu.

Thanks.
