Default Dpfi to mpfi swap

ok so ive been reading some of the threads on here on how to do an mpfi swap an to be quite honest some of it is confusing as ****!!!!

my unanswered question is can i jus get an SI wiring harness an put it in or do i need to do all this cutting an splicing??
if i do get an si harness do i need to get the whole under the dash harness or do i just need the engine harness?

im trying to put my ls/vtec in an this wiring is all that is stopping me. Does anyone have a diagram or pictures that show u step by step on how to achieve this wiring nightmare???

any help is appreciated

You can just get an si harness but you still have to modify the wiring at the ecu plugs. Just search, there are tons of how to's all over the place on MPFI swaps. If you have a 1988, your gonna need a harness from a 1988. If you have a 1989-1991, you need a harness from a 1989-1991 car with mpfi. Also, you need some way to activate vtec.

Its easier to do it with the stock harness.

90% of the people that have done it would reccomend using the stock harness if possible.

If it was me, I would have done the mpfi swap and then drove the car a while like that to make sure everything was in good order, then worried about the swap. Might not have been possible if the old engine blew, but its my $.02

As for wiring, there are 100's of how-tos on the web, grab a couple of the better ones and bookmark them, then cross reference them against eachother to make sure no steps are left out.

I wouldn't recommend putting an SI harness into your dx because its not going to plug in directly, you will need to change the WHOLE chassie harness but that is too much work. I suggest rewiring the dx engine harness and b18b1 is obd1 so you will not need the resistor box, meaning those 4 positive wires going from your injector plugs, connect them to a good 12 volt power source. Like them posts ^^^ are saying there is ALOT of writeups on this kind of conversion, check the FAQ section
