'98 Civic DX - idle problems
We are having trouble with our 98 Civic. It is usually just driven about two miles at a time (yay for living close to work, not so great for the car).
Anyway, recently it was driven a further distance (about 10-15 miles) and once the car warmed up it wouldn't idle. When you came to a stop light the car would just turn itself off. It starts up just fine, but it completely turns off.
When checking fluids we noticed that the oil was a little bit foamy -- both on the dipstick and when you take the cap off. Its not due for its 3K oil change for another 1,000 miles, but I'm sure its past the date to change.
After talking to people we've been told its anything from the head gasket to the ECG valve.
Any ideas? Suggestions? This just started happening a week ago, but the car with be going this 10-15 mile distance daily as jobs have changed.
Thanks!
