I have a 1993 Honda accord ex with the 2.2L SOHC non vtech engine. Last week I had a pretty nasty oil leak which had looked like it was coming from the oil cooler. After checking the area it appeared that is where it was coming from. So I put the o-ring from the dealership in and sealed it up with some High temp silicone and double and tripple checked it for leakage. No problems there. Now a couple days later, Oil is coming from the same area, the only thing that I can see that would be causing the leak is the oil pressure switch that is right above the oil cooler. My dad did some research on it and found that oil can come through where the wires come out of the switch and we checked where it goes into the engine block it was dry but there is oil up in that area. Is this a common problem? If it is do I need to replace the sensor or the harness and wire plug? Or both?
I chased a oil leak for months, replacing various parts. Leak finally stopped after replacing Oil pressure sender. Is easy to replace when oil filter is removed. Part is less than $10 at Autozone
