Ok, this is an 2000 Accord with a factory alarm, but it may have aftermarket security as well. I wanted to clean off the battery terminal so i removed the positive and negative terminals. One of the terminal clamps was broken so i got a new one and installed it. I attached the terminals onto the battery but when the positive (RED) was attached a siren alarm went on. I actually unplugged the siren but the lights would still blink and the car would not start. I believe the alarm immobilzed the starter. This car was just purchased so I do not know which type of model the alarm is and why it will not shut of with the remote.
The remote is a Honda remote, not aftermarket so I am seriously confused. The only way I would think to shut off the alarm would be to hit unlock or hold unlock on the remote but it does not shut the alarm off.
Can anyone assist me with this issue because if I can not start the car, I will have to tow it to a mechanic. Definetly an added expense I do not need.

Check under the driver kick panel for a brain/relay attached to the ignition harness. Also you can just find the starter in the engine bay, put +12v against the "trigger" (it'll have a slide connect on it) and it should start if it's just a starter kill.

So you do not have the remote for the aftermarket alarm, meaning you can not disarm the aftermarket alarm with the Honda remote.
Try this, connect the batt. pos.(+) terminal, turn ign. switch on to run then connect the batt. neg(-).
If that does not work you will need to find alarm brain and unplug it, if it does work you will still need to find alarm brain to get a make and model so you can get a remote for it. 94
