paint retains heat will keep it hotter and will bubble the paint

{AIRPLANE ENGINES}

i dont think that a black engine in a black bay would get that hot.

think about it....our engines are liquid cooled not air cooled. they do not rely on radiant heat absorbed by the air flowing around the engine.

go out and rip on your car hard...pull over...feel your valvecover. it wont burn your hand. im sure your skin will flake up before some paint.

i would probaly just have all my exaust componets coated or wrapped.

ALSO, if your bay is clear coated it will retain some reflectance
(i would think).

i was planning on painting my bay black with the block,head,tranny,chargepipes,and intake manifold gloss black.

chargpipes and intake manifold will be heat blocker coated and my ramhorn,turbine housing,and downpipe will be ceramic coated.

anyone else think it would get hot enough to have adverse effects on the paint of the bay???

Haha, whatever you say.....

Black things get hot when LIGHT hits them because they do not reflect as many light rays as things that are white. Much of the light is absorbed as heat on the black surface, while the white surface reflects most of the light and absorbs much less as heat.
