Hey guys, getting ready to build my 94 EX and have a question on motor mounts. I'm wanting to use this car as a daily driver with some track time, so I'm not wanting something that's going to vibrate like crazy, but something that will be stiffer than the stock mounts. I did a lot of reading and it seems like a lot of people like to take the stock mounts and fill the gaps with 3M Window Weld. This seems to be an extremely cheap and easy way to do the mounts without having to deal with all the vibration the aftermarket mounts cause.
Thoughts?

I use the energy suspension motor mount inserts... The vibration is there, but there is no sharp "buzz" like some of the aftermarket urethane mounts.
maybe give them a call and see what they say...
That hold true for just about all engine mount companies, but even the street versions do vibrate your *** a bit vs the race ones vibrating your dash apart!!

I can deal with a little vibration, but I want to keep it minimal as possible. I just basically want something that's going to be a little stiffer that won't tear apart on a launch. I'm thinking that the 3M filled stock mounts may be the way to go for me in this case since the car won't see the track much and will mostly be a daily driver.
I have heard the 3M option is viable, but I have never been in a car with that done to the mounts.
I have done the ES inserts and it's not that bad. The steering wheel vibrates a bit more at idle and you'll know which dashboard bolts are just loose enough, but it helps and still flexes.

I use OEM at 415whp and will be using them at 450+. If they tore i would probably buy them again. or maybe fill them. I dont like buying expensive mounts that make me complain about driving my car.
if you get these

Ive just got the stock mounts but im buying the full-race proAm traction bars that have the "extra" motor mount. Hook it up when at the track and take it off when driving around on the street. Kinda kill two birds with one stone. Traction bars and "a solid mount" for about $400. Just my .02.
avid mounts are cheaper than most aftermarket mounts and are very good quality and as far as how much power they can handle, I have a friend that uses them in his SFWD race car which makes 700+whp.

I will most likely just take my stockers and fill the gaps in them with the 3M window weld. Since I want to use this car for a daily driver I don't want the vibration that aftermarkets will cause, nor do I want to spend the money on them when I know I won't be happy with them. I've driven cars that had poly mounts and driven ones with the urethane mounts. Although they do stiffen things up they make the car quite a bit more uncomfortable to drive, and this is car I want to be able to drive to meets and such, not something that's going to make me hot and uncomfortable.
I have the energy suspension inserts in all my stock mounts. The vibration isn't bad at all and they work very well. Cheap too compared to buying complete mounts.
i've got inserts.. noticed a huge increase in torque response once i slapped them in. more torque goes to the ground instead of twisting the motor.
i have inovative mounts with avid racing torque mounts...they vibrate but not to bad i don't have a problem with them at all....but use stock mounts and just get the avid torque mounts and you will be fine..
INSERTS FTW barely any vibration, rock solid motor. probably not as solid as an overpriced billet mount but who cares for that power level. making over 450 and i love my inserts
