Anybody know how affective this is in the means of security? Chipped ignition, my buddy has it and if it's what its cracked up to be I might add it.

Weak, Just follow the leads from the unit were the chip is installed and uninstall the unit. And thing that you can add a key or a chip(plug) to make the car start in my eyes is poor security. And a theif will just follow the leads right back. And most of the time it is tagged to the ignition or starter. And that a poor kill switch to begin with. A well installed alarm system will all the accesories like the dei 520t back up battery, mini siren in the car, hidden siren and main relay will stop if not prevent the theif from driving away with your car. Install is the key here.

I see but it doesn't take the place of the key the ignition is still the same turn key but you have to plug that in too but I understand about the leads like following it and uninstalling and breaking into the ignition. You know what company makes them?

Do not need that specail chip. Just tag the dizzy with 12 volts and push start the car. Read the sticky above for real security.

I think I have one of those sitting a box, you can have it if I can find it.

i think my car has the same problem, now that my chip is in, i cant start it and its been lost for a few days, it was a poor judgement to take it out in the first place but do you know of any way that i cant replace or just take it out without using any means of a replacement to start?
