gsr bottom end rebuild.
so im getting as gsr motor for cheap because the owner spun a rod bearing, what parts should i replace, he has a spare crank, then i will get scat rods, new pistons, acl bearings of course anything else that should be replaced to do what happend? thanks
Under what conditions did it fail?
New main, and rod bearings, thrust washers, and oem type r oil pump, water pump.
Have the block, and head deck checked, check the cam journals for scoring as well as all the oil passages in the head
Turn crank, bore cylinders depending on clearances
Then order bearings, pistons, and rings, full gasket, set ect.ect.

Deck the block, hone the cylinder walls or go overbore to ensure the cylinders aren't tapered or out of round. Have the rotating assembly balanced, double measure clearances such as: bearing, ring, and piston to wall clearances. Use a new oil pump, water pump, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, also now would be the time to paint the block and install an aftermarket oil pressure gauge if you're interested. New ARP head studs would also be a nice investment.
well thank you everyone for you response and help i apreciate it but the guy sold the motor and did not even tell me, thats ok i found a b16 longblock for 400 bucks he went down from 800!!! what a steal,
