my ls jus started cutting out on me earlier and feeling weak on power and jus cutting out and coming back to life rapidly and the tachometer jumps like crazy to 2000 to like 7000 and everywhere else jus crazy like and the check engine light pops on when its running all shitty but if u kill it an turn it back on it goes off then it will run completly fine for a bit so could this be something with distributor?? coil maybe? loose wire somewhere ? anyone with a more positive lead or asnwer

 

Probably a bad igniter unit/ICM in the distributor.

wat are the odds its the coil

 

The tach signal comes from the igniter/ICM not the coil. Though when an igniter goes, the coil is usually not far behind.
