1989 CRX B16A Build
Well I recently aquired a 1989 CRX with a b16a and will be doing a bit of a build. This is my first honda and I really like the car so far. Details:
89 CRX, 215,000kms
B16a with 80,000kms
RSX magnaflow exaust
Intake
Short Shift
The plan:
Lower on new springs and shocks
Header
New catback
Integra GSR fat fives
Rear Disk Conversion
Replace Drivers Seat
Repair rust and replace drivers side fender(have replacement but its white).
Paint valve and spark plug covers
Also the PO decided it would be a swell idea to put the battery in a wood box in the hatch so that needs to go back in the engine bay so I can pass tech at auto-x events and most importantly does light on fire. haha
The one thing I'm undecided on is what I should do for paint, whomever painted it previously did an awful shop and the disgusting yellow color the car was before shows through in many areas. I not have the founds or means of giving it a proper paint job at this point in time, so I'm either thinking of going flat black for the time being or just using a lot of touchup paint.
Anyway on to the pictures.

lol. someone spray-bombed it? then put the DOHC decals on it?
riiiiiiiiiice.
yeah... go with a gloss black to be honest, so it doesn't look so spray bombed.
I am gonna end up painting my engine bay before I get my car painted....

And I'm almost positive its not spray bombed, just from looking at it, I don't think the paint quality is the problem, it just looks like there was shitty prep work done.

I'm also in regina, the only people I know that will have some formal meets this summer are a bunch of guys from qcautomotive.com, I'm signed up on there and there are quiet a few guys with hondas.
Little update, springs are in the mail and I got some new wheels on today. Bodywork and paint will start in the next couple of weeks once I get my jetta on the road.

O ya, forgot one thing. I mounted a new drivers seat, it's an older bucket seat, really comfy don't know the brand or anything, only markings on it say Made in England. I'll grab a pic later tonight.
Soon to start my own 89 rex b16a build. Can't wait. I gotta convert from auto to manual tranny. Not sure how difficult that will be but hoping everything goes smooth. Keep up the work man and keep posting those pics as your build continues
