Default Clutch install project quick question of help

Sup guys I have my 1995 integra RS tore apart for clutch change

i'm at the part where im taking out the tranny now i got my teanny jack etc all rdy to go, gonna pull it tmw with some buddies.

just need a quick part number on the tranny seals ill need to replace and also i need to know which exahust gasket parts #'s i need to order to replace.

I was at autozone today and ordered the spring assembly bolts for the a pipe to cat but I couldn't figure out which gaskets I need because their computerb rings up a bunch.

I picked up this metal round donut looking gasket for couple bucks he claims its the apipe one, but I'm not sure, also someone where it reads i need one for the cat also, but when I took the exhaust apart there was no gaskets at all.

I just dont know which part #'s to order. any help would be great.

the shop computer shows input and output seals and sleeves etc, im not sure which ones i need.

I just went to Advance Auto parts and got the only 2 seals that the tranny has. Since there is only 2, there shouldn't be much confusion there.

As for the metal donut gasket, that is correct. It goes between the end of your header and cat. But if you are disconnecting the exhaust to get the tranny out, that isn't necessary. You can still drop the tranny with it all connected. Also don't forget to support the engine while the tranny is out.

hey man thanks, so ill just get them both then.

also I have no more cash left and I'am wondering how i can support the engine without an engine hoist if its possible.

The helms manual says i have to take out the distributor mounting bolt, which one is this? the top one by the valve cover? cause the other two arw for advancing/retarding the timing correct?

the reason i ran short on money is because i bought all new gaskest for my valve cover, head, and spark plug seals, and a **** load of fiberglass resin and bondo cause also in this project i took the front end/rear end/taillights/sheet metal / fenders/ everything metal off and molded it all to fiberglass and turned everything fiberglass, and all rdy for paint, mass weight reduction and durability, this fiberglass u can take a maul to it and it wont break.
Also had some rusted areas in the bottom metal on the rear quarter and some underbody/trunk rust so that was all chopped/fiberglassed/bondoed/painted.

Also im bleeding the rad fluid cause its leaking and causing engine to run hot and io cannot find the cause so while everything is out i figured this is good time to find out whats giong on here.

Also have oil leaks which is why the head is off and work is being done here.

Another main problem is i have is my timing is off, it takes 4 seconds to start the car but it runs like a new motor, so im gonna try and figure out whats causing this.

an accident in the rear last summer b4 it came off the road was cause of the trunk rust and problems and rear end problems which is why i decided to redo the entire body anyway.

Last year I had the entire interior out redid carpet seats brackets dash and wiring/alarm/everything.

I will post pics of how things sit right now and give ppl a better idea of what we are doing here! :p.

I'm a big diyer and do not believe in shop labour!

This car was bought 3 years ago and has bene accidented and new front end done.

I'm just tearing it down and replacing, and since the clutch bearing n pressure plate is failing cause the clutch si gone i decided since im hauling the tranny ima redo everything bodywise so i started 1 month ago and heres where i stand today

Just support the engine with a jack and a 2x4 or similar block of wood. I would assume you have more than 1 jack? If not, then I'm not really sure what other options there are.

yup i have two jacks their regular floor jacks they raise 16 inches max this should be enough i assume. i have a nice piece of 2by 4 i can use to support the engine, this goes under the oil pan i assume?

The other jack i can just put flush to the tranny and raise it a bit to get pressure off mounts etc then undo the screws and start lowing slowly with it tied off and secured of course.

If im missing anything lmk I'm not gonna pull the tranny until i get feedback, i don't wanna **** this up

the car is on jack stands extended out to their max to raise the car.

I'm wondering how much room do i need to drop the tranny and have it completly free cause i might try and get it higher with some blocks etc

When I swapped my transmission, I just had the front end on 2 jack stands at the 3rd notch and it was plenty. As for the placing of the wood, I put it on the very edge of the block like right where the tranny and engine meet together. If your jack doesn't reach, which mine didn't, I put a couple pieces of wood under the jack to raise it up off of the ground.

Yup, that's what I did. A block of wood will do the job if your jack doesn't go high enough.

nice okay i got my fronts on like the last notch so shuld be high enough and i have some 2 by 4's under my jack to make it raised and i got the two by 4 as u said where the engine/tranny meet, this is the best spot eh? for less dmg?

how much do i have to raise up on the engine or do i jus need to put it up flush.

and i dont get how the haynes manual says i have to loosen the distributor bolt? wtf i dont get why it says this.

also i picked up the tranny seals today, thats for your clarification on those, the other store was talking bout a bunch of useless **** and sleeves etc and this store new right away.

anybody know a free website to upload images so i can post some, got a bunch here so you can see more clearly what i got goin on;p

see ya soon guys i might pull the tranny thursday or friday, i got some things to do tomorrow and wens, hoping to be free thurs if not ittl prolly be friday

You don't need to raise the engine up very much at all. You just want to raise the jack up enough so it's putting pressure on the engine and holding it where it is at.

As for the distributor bolt, I don't know why you would have to mess with the distributor at all.. And yes, the reason I put the wood where the engine and tranny meet was because it wouldn't damage anything since it was directly sitting up against the engine and not the oil pan or header.

That spot looks to be alright from the pic. And no, the clutch and flywheel will not come out with the tranny since they are attached to the engine.

okay don't worry this is a lil tricky your first time...
make sure you removed the piece in the back of the tranny with the two hoses in it.
DO NOT REMOVE THE HOSES! just the two 10mm bolts and pull the whole assembly.

Now you have to just swivle the tranny back and forth to clear the suspension and k member

also make sure you removed the clutch cover next to the oil pan

Did you remove the rear engine stiffener? It looks like this. It's by the clutch cover..

yup i got it all, i followed the article here and on honda tech and the haynes manual, i didi everything and rechecked everything twice.

i cant get the bottom off

got the exhaust off
driveshafts
intermediate shafts
stiffiner
all upper bolts, rear mounts/bolts/pass mounts bolts
forks r out
hubs r out of the way

all the things r unhooked, disconnected, mounts r taken out
wires and sensors unpluged, everythings out,
clutch cover off
its like its ****ing welded together at the bottom or something...

is there any bolts on the bottom other then the clutch cover plate and the one up in the corner ?

ima post some pics in a few minutes to show you whats going on.

what is this ur talking about.

I can't really tell from the pic, but you took all of these off right; specifically the 2 that go directly on the tranny and not the rear T-bracket since I think you said you got that already?

If you did, it seems like everything is off like it should be, so maybe all you can do is wiggle it until you get it completely out of the shaft inside of the transmission.
