Default lil question for 96 honda accord.

Well first of all i drive 96 honda accord ex 2.2 l

My suspension has beeen squeaking abit... in the front end. not sure what it is... if its struts or what not.

I was doing oil change today on it... and some treatments for emissions and i notice my ball joint rubber is torn on one side and totally off on the other. would this make the car squeak when i hit alittlte bump ?

I replaced mostly everything on suspension. ony thing i havent was strut bar, spring.strut and I think thats it.

any info would be AWSOME! just trying to figure if my shocks are gone mabe thats why its squeaking when i hit bump. If my balljoints need to be replaced would this fix my squeaking problem when i hit bump?

Thanks n advance. Trying to figure out what to replace.

Nick

I don't know about struts, but when mine was squeeking in the front, it was because of the sway bar bushing. Spray some silicone spray or put on some grease, and you should be good to go.

As for the lower, I would get that thing replaced, very dangerous.

Check out the Accord FAQ under suspension, there's a DIY on swaybar bushing lubrication. The sway bar bushing is connected to the frame of the car which holds the swaybar in place. They are made of rubber, so they tend to squeek if they are dry. I like the teflon tape method, works WELL!

Accord FAQ "STICKY" located at the top of the main subforum for the 90-2002 Accord.
