Default help with door panel!

so im about to swap some new doors in my car but i also need to swap in my old panels to the new door. i've only tried to take my panels off once and i ended up bending the metal clip retainers on the window sill straight or i created bigger holes or it.

my question is how can i take them off without damaging the clips? thanks

also, i've never taken a door off before, i looked at it and it looks like simple bolt on/offs right?

the door panels are easy like 9 screws and then pull the finger cup out and then slide the door panel up so u want bend the black piece that goes by the window and yes the doors are jus bolt on bolt off kinda thing the only thing is the plug tht goes from the body 2 the door for ur speaker wires and everthing jus unplug it and 4 12mm bolts

oh and if im not mistakin u have 2 take the fenders off 2 take the doors off

thanks!

hmm when i tried looking at it, it looked as if i had to take the door off first to take the fender off. that sounds really dumb though but those bolts for the door hinges are so hard to get to in between the door and fender gap. theres also two bolts for the fender in between that same gap that i also cant get it.

advice please? thanks

oh i was asking about how ot take the panels off without breaking/bending the clips because im swapping doors and the new door has no panels. it's a 91. i think im good with taking the panels off. taking the doors off, i think im okay with that too. now my problem is swapping the door locks. is this easy to do? i looked behind at the new door and it looks really complicated. haha

From memory the locking mechanism is attached to the door handle, which makes it nice and difficult to work with.

There are metal rods connected from the latch to the handle, and i couldn't take them apart. I found the best way to remove the assembly was to take the handle out from the outside of the car (standing outside, take the whole assembly through).

The metal rods are what make it difficult, there's very little leeway in them.
