hiii guys,

sooo im having a super hard time trying to fix my buddies ep3 front suspension. right now, the bottom of the strut where it connects to the hub will not re connect?!? people say to rotate the rotor and gently push on it to see if the axle popped out, but that isnt the problem....


HOW DO WE RECONNECT THE TWO MAIN BOLTS TO THE STRUT!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

 

most likely the axle popped out, look if the rubber is stretched out. just keep playing with the hub, turn it left and right while gently pushing it back in...

 

I agree; that's probably what occurred. If you search ephatch.com you'll find several posts regarding this problem, and if memory serves there may be a video (certainly there are pics) showing how to manipulate the hub & axle to pop the axle back into place. One person can do it, but it helps to have at least one extra set of hands -- one set to lift and push on the axle, and a second set to feel when the splines line up.

 

Yea, your axle popped, no big deal....here is how I get it back in....
1) Keep the top 3 nuts loose at strut top.
2) Swing over the strut and inset the lower bolt through the knuckel.
3) Put the palm of your hand on the part of the knuckel that the upper bolt will go through and lean on it.
4) With your other hand turn the brake rotor while pushing with your other had on the knuckel...it should pop in....
