Love it, its beautiful, runs great (had a little leak, but took care of that). Paint has its tiny imperfections, but overal looks amazing. Now, i really wanna take some pictures of the car, and not like the ones that you see on craigslist or in a newspaper. I wanna take pictures like you see on here, or in magazines with great backgrounds (we have those in tahoe and such) and lighting affects, and all that jazz.

Now, i have a camera, not really the most high tech one (wasn't super expensive), and I would like some people to share how they get pictures. Any and all ideas would be great since im knew at this (and very impressionable). I hear a lot of people use Photoshop to edit their pictures to make them look better as well, me being a student at the moment will have to get by with a free photo editing program like GIMP.

Im not 100% sure im in the right forum for this... and ill have a look around the rest of the site (since i've never asked about photos) to see if there is any real info on this topic.
Anyway, my camera is a digital Minolta. I really just would like to know how some of the pictures i see on here get done.

I think what im really trying to ask is what do you do to get photos of your car that are magazine worthy? Ones that people are gonna stop, stare, and wonder, "how the **** did he do that?"

Please only constructive ideas here, im ready to learn! =D

 

If you figure out how to take tasteful pics (I'm not a photographer myself), you can upload to Photobucket.com and use them to host pics.

 

I know how to take pictures, and load them on the internet...
but as far as adding SPICE to them, using lighting, shadows and such that you see in pictures that people take at car shows... Thats what im wanting to know about

I've shot a few pics and put them on the web... but they just dont have what some pictures I see on here and in magazines have... And i want them too.. =]

photography is all about light.

typically, the best time to take photos is early morning and late afternoon/early evening. The light hitting the background you want to use will determine whether you should shoot early or late.

With photo editing software, well, the skies the limit. You can go from simple contrast adjustment all the way to putting a moonscape background :p
