alright got a idea but need some help
alright i need space in my trunk of my 90 honda civic...so i was thinking of going cheap right now...building a tiny box and putting it in where the spare tire went.....but my problem is...the hole is only like 7 inches deep or so...so the subs might JUST fit...but my question is...could i put the subs facing down so the magnets are facing up...and then put some port hols in the box..or should i just make the box bigger so it is higher and put the subs in the floor facinging up...which would be louder...and is this box set up even possilbe?
your not gonna get much volume from a spare tire enclosure in an ef unless you do some fibreglassing
are you saying you want to put the sub inside of the box and just have ports to let the sound out? if so that will not work. if you're asking if you can mount the sub to the baffle upside down so that the magnet is sticking out of the box then yes, it will work just fine and give you a bit more box volume as well

yeah i what i was asking if i mount the sub like that (with magnet up) will i need port holes...and what if i mounted the subs normal with no port holes?
sounds stupid but is it possible to do fiber glassing your yourself..and how much is it...

ok so you want to buiild a box in the spare tire well you can do it with out fiber glass but you are going to loose alot of air space, now what you can do is build a box with sides that angle outward but if you dont wanna go through all that yes you can do that but you have to wire the subs out of phase, you dont need a port unless the subs call for a port when you wire the subs your going to bridge the amp like you would normally then when you get to the subs your going to wire both subs like this negative from the amp to POSITIVE to the subs positive from the amp to NEGATIVE to the subs this will not harm the subs at all you might get alittle more boomy bass but hey atleast you get what you want
