Vtec wiring on 94 accord lx w/ f23a... PLEASE HELP
Hi all, i have an f23a that I just swapped into my 94 accord lx. I have the right ecu (POA from 94 accord ex) and tried to wire up the vtec and realized the vtec pressure switch is gone. Is it a must to have or am I screwed into buying one? I also don't know exactly how to wire it up, I've got the vtec solenoid on pin a4, the would be pressure switch on d6 and the knock sensor on d3 (at least I think its the knock sensor, comes off back of block). Also, do I need to use a vtec distributor or not. Just looking for some answers. Please help
There is two signal wires and a ground. I dont remember the pin #s off hand, but two will run from the ECU to the solenoid, and pressure switch, and the other wire on the pressure switch is to ground. I dont know if that is going to work for you though. The distributor for the F23 and F22B1 are different, the spark plug holes in the cap are in the same order but in different locations, ( rotated 90 degrees). I'm also pretty sure that the cam is different, I attempted to run a F23 head on a F22A4 block, and I never could get it to run right. I put a F22B1 head on and it fixed the problem. If this does nt fix your problem I would probably suggest getting a P28 from phearable.net and having it tuned. Thats about the only way to control a F23(OBD2) in an OBD1 car, since the ECU connectors are not the same. Or maybe a OBD1 to OBD2 conversion harness.
you obviously need the vtec pressure switch. you'll also need to get an adapter to run your old IACV on the F23A intake manifold. www.roskoracing.com
I have a F23A1 in my 90 CB7 running fine. F22B1 computer and distributor and forementioned IACV adapter.

(d15). I'm sure the F22B1 IACV would work too.
