Here's a pic for you performance-less people.

NOTE: Don't even think of buying one because it "looks cool", no one will be able to see it once installed. Oh oh, I can see it now: see through fenders

I guess you're one of those "performance-less" people i'm talking about.

Learn what "triangulation" will do to structure strength, then reply.

Maybe the problem here is that some people only car about drag racing. I doubt that getting the triangular braces inside your fender will do little for the drag racing folks among us. As for me, I acutally picked up a set from japan and think they do a pretty good job (I autocross) Any car goes under tortional stress when the body rolls, especially when it rolls one way and then snaps back the other, for example in a slalom. The bars are supposed to help prevent twisting of the front chassis letting the suspension do its work. So in short, Tortional stiffness is good, being a "preformance-less" person is bad...

Yeah, thats actually why I was thinking of doing that - I was wondering if it'd make the car feel more stable in the turns (I'm also getting the z10 radius rods). I mean, drag racing is fun - but I'm more into autoX and other things curvy

The purpose of the triangular bar and the Z10 bar are to totally different. While the jdm triangular bar does allow better traction , that's just one of the benefits. The main benefit by having that bar is to increase structural rigity on weak points on on that part of the body frame allowing for a much more responsive steering, and much less chassis flex when used in conjunction with an an upper strut bar and larger front lower swaybars.

Of course something like that is totally not necessary for the street. Those of you that are really hardcore road racers, this is somethin that might benefit you when squeezing the most out of your suspension system.
