Default experience with place racing front crossmember

I did a search..and saw 1 topic from someone...and a few people talking smack about the bars..and how they broke. Is that really the general feelings for it? I need some more room up front for my oil drain line and i dont want to shell out 550+ for the z10. I also heard there are 2 versions of it? Does anyone know? I already torched the front member but its just not enough. Has anyone successfully used a place racing crossmember???? I dont want to hear get a z10 instead..cause i know i definetly rather would..but i dont want to spent that much to get a clean oil drain.

I have the Place Racing CM and love it. My car has super stiff suspension and I race it regularly and have had no problems with it. This thing is seriously beefy and I cant imagine it ever breaking.

When I bought mine from Place Racing, they explained that this was their new, stronger version. They have addressed all the issues and problems with the earlier CM.

The fit and finish on it are perfect. I weighs a few more pounds than stock but that just adds to the strength.

It also allows you to run the smaller 92up radiators.

For any motor, it's better clearance for a header, Turbo, etc....

Is your crossmember the first or second release? I heard they recalled all the newer ones....If it's the new one and that guy doesn't buy it, I'll take it.

Well i installed the cm and its a very nice peice. The 92-95 radiator fits pretty good. And it hangs a bit lower than stock. But i do have two complaints about it. #1 being that i cant jack my car up from the cm anymore, and 2.... i cant use the front mount. I will have to call placeracing up and probably purchase the front mounting peice from them. Other tahn that
