Grinding 5th gear
I have a problem. I have recently started grinding 5th gear, especially when shifting from 3rd to 5th, but also on quick "power" shifts from 4th to 5th. This problem started only a few days ago, but is quickly getting worse. I also hear a creaking noise when I engage/disengage the clutch. It sounds like a metal spring maybe. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You probably bent the shifter fork.
*Note: It is very bad for the tranny to skip a gear. Shifting down and up. That and power shifting is how you bend forks.

check and make sure your tranny is full with fluid. Some use 10w30, but i used the red honda stuff and it helped a lot. If not that then you may just have some bad synchros.

that's bad juju my friend.
powershifting is a rush. sooner or later you're gonna be paying for that "rush". i don't do it, but a fellow hatcher of mine does it often, and kaboom... spill some cash for a new tranny assy. food for thought... don't do it
