so i am thinking of putting in a roll bar/semi cage in my car

it has eight point mounting positions, and i dont think the bars would be in the way of any heads if i were to get in a accident in the street but im not sure if that rear harness mount will be far enough back for me to mount my racing harness.


my goals are to make my ed8 have somewhat less flex along with making it stronger and give it more safety. this car will be mainly driven in autocross, but will sometimes be driven on the street

if any of you have personal experiences with daily driven semi cages (that are safe from head injury) i would love to hear about it

 

im telling you right now from personal experience with this cage. if you do not know how to weld or cut metal pipe and grind out notches do NOT buy this cage. this things comes like its made for a car twice the size of a crx. for the hoop alone we ended up having to cut it in half, take a foot or more out the middle, reweld it, and take over a foot off of each end. every pipe is that way. this cage needs tons of fabrication and I honestly dont see how any company gets away with selling it saying its made to fit a crx.

EDIT: if you knwo what ur doing itll come out nice, but its not an easy job by any means.

 

FYI any bar that is in the car will be in the way of your head otherwise the manufacturer would have put them in.

i dont see a point in those 2 extra legs on the lower half of the main hoop.

shrug.

btw, i have a roll bar for sale in socal, no ship (for anyone else interested and local).
