When was your last basic tune up (plugs, wires, cap, rotor)? Have you inspected all of these important ignition components?

yea the engine temps would have been the same. I put new plugs in about 2 months ago. When the car is running and i remove the plug wire on the probelm cylinder there was no chage in how the engine ideled the day when the compression was poor

Check the wires, cap, and rotor. Do you have spark at that bad plug?
